One of C. A. Pretzer Associates’ specialties is performing structural engineering investigations of damaged buildings. The firm regularly conducts investigations for insurance companies, contractors, and building owners to determine cause, scope of damage, method of repair, building code implications, and on occasion, provide engineering support for projects in litigation.

Our engineers have traveled to various destinations after natural disasters such as New Orleans, after Hurricane Katrina; Florida, after Hurricanes Andrew, Charlie, Jeanne, Francis, and Michael; Hawaii, after Hurricane Iniki; Texas, after Hurricane Ike and Harvey; Puerto Rico, after Hurricane George and the earthquakes of 2020; St. John and St. Thomas, USVI, after Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

We have also responded to post-disaster events in New England such as winter snowstorms, hurricanes and other wind events, tornadoes, and explosions.
